WHY CAN'T I ENROL RIGHT NOW? WHY AREN'T INTAKES OPEN ALL THE TIME?

 

The SCDOC is a volunteer-run, not for profit community club currently offering 21 classes per week, with new course blocks starting every 8 weeks. We run at full capacity with the resources and instructors we have on board. 

If we could open more intakes or classes, we would!

If you want to help us expand and reach more people, get in touch with us about volunteering in other opportunities :)

 

HOW MUCH ARE THE CLASSES?

 

As of 2023, the club schedule of fees has been updated. Members can now opt to pay casually "as they go", or they can purchase the block of classes upfront for a heavily discounted rate.

Pricing is available on the page for Beginner's Obedience.

 > Green Classes - $10 each, or $64 for the 8 week block.

 > Red Classes - $10 each, or $64 for the 8 week block.

 > Black Classes - $10 each, or $64 for the 8 week block.

 > Trial Training - TBA

 > Intro to Scentwork Six Week Course - on hiatus

 > Scentwork Novice/Advanced and Excellent/Masters classes - on hiatus.

Participation in any class or course requires membership to the club.  Membership options are -

Single Adult - $15/yr

Dual (2 x Adults) - $20/yr

Junior (12-18y/o) - $5/yr

Upon first enrolling a joining fee of $25 applies.

Monday nights: Obedience (all levels), Trial Training for Rally, Obedience & Tricks

CAN I START SOONER THAN THE WEBSITE STATES?

 

No, our only courses are as advertised on this website. Each intake starts and finishes as a group, we cannot accept new enrollees mid-way through.

WHERE ARE THE CLASSES HELD?

 

We are located on the Sunshine Coast, QLD, in Buderim at the Buderim Sports Complex, past the hockey fields on the right. We have our own private, fully fenced grounds. Classes are held outdoors, on the grass field.
 

 

DO YOU OFFER 1 ON 1 TRAINING?

 

We only offer group classes. Private or 1 on 1 training is not available.

WHAT IF I HAVE DONE OBEDIENCE TRAINING BEFORE?

 

If you have done formal obedience training at another club or dog training centre (excluding puppy school) please email us and let us know! After an assessment, we might be able to place you in a higher class!
 

 

THE WEBSITE SAYS CLASSES ARE CLOSED, CAN I GET IN?

 

Unfortunately, if the website says classes are closed it means just that. We are all volunteers and cannot cater for more people than we already take, we apologise for this. Please follow our Facebook Page for updates and announcements about the next intake.

We do not hold places for anyone and do not keep a waitlist. We recommend jumping online to enrol at 11 AM on intake day to get your enrollment in.
 

 

I HAVE DONE PUPPY SCHOOL WITH MY DOG, CAN I SKIP BEGINNERS?

 

Puppy school is not the same as the beginner's obedience classes. Unless you have done obedience training at another club or training centre and can prove those skills in an assessment, we cannot skip you up a level. The beginner's course is very fast-moving and a lot is learned each week, so it won't be boring! You also need to be competent in the skills and techniques we cover in beginner's so you can perfect and extend on them in the next class level!
